Family Counseling

Addiction is a FAMILY disease.

One of the first things we teach family members of loved ones struggling with addiction is that they are in recovery too.

Addiction impacts the entire family.

Communication breaks down, unhealthy patterns of interaction begin to develop, and often all the attention and focus is on your loved one and their addiction.

The negative behaviors that come with addiction also impact the entire family. As a result, the entire family system becomes unhealthy.

But there is HOPE!

The sooner the family can understand, accept, and take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing, the better chance the individual and the family has to recover from addiction.

“But I’m not the one who is sick!”

You may think that you’re not the one with the problem or the one who is sick, but the family is certainly impacted by the addiction.

Over time, dysfunctional patterns of behavior develop as the result of the addiction.

If you’re in a relationship with someone struggling with addiction, whether you are the spouse, parent, child or friend, you have been impacted and will benefit from your own counseling.

Counseling can help you and your family.

Depending on the nature of your specific family situation and your counseling goals, we typically request to meet with one or more family members for individual counseling, prior to the family sessions.

Once we have an overview, we can then create a plan for success that meets your needs and the needs of your entire family.

Broken relationships can be mended.

Differences can be reconciled.

Don’t let your family’s dissension last a day longer.
